Don't kid yourself - these articles make it out like the losers were somehow victims of things beyond their control. They've had plenty of control for the past 8 years (even longer in the legislature), and the voters finally held them accountable.

Until the GOP remembers its heritage - it used to be the party of personal responsibility, back when I was a member - and takes responsibility for forgetting the middle class, for forgetting that government doesn't belong in private matters or personal business, for forgetting that your religion is your business and not theirs, for spending the next generation's money on their tax cuts and treating corporate welfare like it's good business for everyone, they will continue to stumble to oblivion.

And if that is the party you want, then go form a new one and give everyone else back the real Republican party.
